Test Marketing
Before releasing their new battery, a major battery manufacturer needed to determine how effective a new packaging and logo redesign was likely to be. Since most battery purchases are made from a display rack it was critical to guarantee brand recognition from a predetermined distance.
Solution --
Interactive Touch Screen Kiosk:
Nareka created an interactive program to test consumers' ability to identify products and brands from certain distances. Product images were created to simulate distances from a display rack in a typical retail environment when shown on a large computer screen. Several packaging and logo designs were being considered for the rollout; therefore, it was important that the manufacturer know how long it took for brand recognition. The solution was to design the program to track response time using an interactive touch screen. Another part of the program tested battery industry branding with respect to the major manufacturers. Consumers at malls around the country and in Europe were tested. The results of those tests helped determine which type of packaging to choose prior to the release of the new battery.
